We hit Copper Harbor in the dark. The next morning found us
visiting a childhood retreat of mine. A summer camping place with
the family. Fort Wilkins State Park, in Copper Harbor.
It sure brought back memories. Terry cloth shorts and tank tops,
tearing through the park on our banana seat bikes with our long
Jan and Marsha Brady blonde braids whipping our cheeks and necks.
Then settling down with campfires every night scheming our next day's
shenanigans. In the early '30's the WPA spent time bringing the old
fort back to life, even saving the fence that enclosed the fort.

I love Copper Harbor and Fort Wilkins. I have friends who do a Civil War reenactment there. I have a picture of my 3 kids on that same wagon from years back. GREAT memories!! Thanks!!
