The Color of Education
After leaving Roscommon we headed through St. Helen to see my elementary school, "The Rock." The metal roof and front addition is obviously new, but you can get a good idea of how rural we were.
We eventually moved into a state of the art new elementary. Today, with Michigan's economy at all time lows, and populations moving to better areas, all schools in St. Helen are now closed and the children ride the buses to Roscommon.
